​The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 02 of 2026, inviting online applications for 76 Divisional Cadre posts of Draftsman (Civil) within the Jal Shakti Department.

Key Dates and Application Details

​Eligible candidates can apply through the JKSSB official portal during the following window:

  • Commencement of Online Applications: April 15, 2026.
  • Last Date for Submission: May 14, 2026.

Application Fee:

  • General Category (OM): Rs. 600.
  • SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS, and PwBD: Rs. 500.
  • Note: Payments must be made online via Net Banking, Credit, or Debit cards.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Domicile & Age

​Applicants must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and possess a valid certificate by the cut-off date. The age limit (as of January 1, 2026) varies by category:

  • Open Merit (OM): 40 years.
  • SC / ST / RBA / ALC/IB / EWS / OBC: 43 years.
  • Physically Challenged Persons: 42 years.
  • Ex-Servicemen: 48 years.

2. Reservation

​Reservation applies as per the J&K Reservation Act/Rules. Candidates seeking benefits must possess and upload valid category certificates by the application deadline.

Examination Process

  • Format: Objective Type with Multiple Choice Questions in English only.
  • Negative Marking: There is a penalty of 0.25 (one-fourth) marks for each wrong answer.
  • Admit Cards: Available for download approximately one week before the exam date. Candidates must bring a printout and two recent passport-size photos to the venue.
  • Scribe Facility: PwBD candidates with physical limitations to write can arrange their own scribe (of a lower educational grade) and may receive 20 minutes of compensatory time per hour.

Important Instructions for Applicants

  • No Modifications: Once the application is submitted and a number is generated, no changes to fields or preferences will be permitted.
  • Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates must produce original documents (Academic, Domicile, Category, etc.) during DV. Failure to appear or provide valid original documents will result in disqualification.
  • In-Service Candidates: Must submit their application through their respective Head of Department.
