J&K Government Announces 32,474 Vacancies – Department-Wise Breakdown!

Srinagar, March 4, 2025 – Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has informed the House that a total of 32,474 vacancies exist across various government departments as of January 31, 2025. These include:

• 2,503 Gazetted posts
• 19,214 Non-Gazetted posts
• 10,757 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) positions

Department-Wise Vacancies:

• Health & Medical Education – 7,851
• Public Works (R&B) – 3,759
• Animal Husbandry – 2,589
• Industries & Commerce – 2,517
• Housing & Urban Development – 2,420
• Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare – 1,340
• Power – 1,305
• Food & Supplies – 1,131
• Finance – 1,009
• Revenue – 1,004
• Jal Shakti – 856
• School Education – 770

The government has already initiated the recruitment process and has referred 3,727 vacancies to the J&K Service Selection Board (JKSSB) and Public Service Commission (PSC) for hiring. More vacancies are expected to be announced soon!
