Jammu and Kashmir Government Invites Applications for Handicraft Artisans' Scholarship Program
The Office of the Assistant Director of Handicrafts, Srinagar, has announced an educational scholarship scheme for the children of registered handicraft artisans in District Srinagar. Eligible artisans are encouraged to apply and take advantage of this opportunity.
Application Details
Application forms for the scholarship will be available free of charge starting January 7, 2025. These can be collected from:

Respective Handicrafts Block Offices
Online platforms, including the official Instagram page (@hhsrinagar) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/HHSrinagar)
Completed forms must be submitted to the appropriate office no later than January 25, 2025.
Scholarship Amounts
Scholarships are offered as follows :
1. Primary Education: ₹1,500 per student annually
2. 6th to 10th Grade: ₹2,000 per student annually
3. 11th to 12th Grade: ₹3,000 per student annually
4. Technical/Professional Courses: Tuition fees as determined by the government
Note: A maximum of two children per artisan are eligible for the scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
1. Be registered artisans or weavers with the Handicrafts and Handloom Department and possess a valid registration card or certificate
2. Belong to the BPL, PHH, or AAY categories, or have an EWS certificate.
3. Have a family income of less than ₹90,000 annually, with income certification from a Tehsildar or 1st Class Magistrate.
4. Provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the relevant Zonal Educational Officer and Tehsil Social Welfare Officer.
5. Attach original fee receipts for children enrolled in professional courses.
Important: Children already receiving scholarships from any other department for the 2024–2025 financial year are not eligible for this scheme.
